Welcome to "Reflections on Religion"! “Why a blog about religion?”, you might ask. There are two main reasons: One reason is that, whether you’re religious or not, your beliefs concerning religious issues are likely to have a large impact on how you live your life. Religious issues are thus relevant to most people’s lives in a way that, e.g., issues in mainstream (analytic) philosophy, in such disciplines as metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophy of language, are not. Not a lot hangs on the question of whether or not a statue is literally identical to the lump of clay from which it was made, for instance. So although my background is mostly in philosophy, I think it would be a good idea to devote more thought to issues that are of greater importance. The other reason is that I, personally, am undecided about many of these issues, and I hope that by expressing my ideas and receiving comments on them I can get a little closer to the truth.

Interesting!
ReplyDeleteIf you really search for the truth, which people really don't want exclusively, I mean, they want to discuss it out but don't want be engaged with, it's really tough to embrace the truth and get the benefit out of it. But if you are sincere with yourself you will definitely find your destination.
Goodluck.
Thanks, Rahat!
